Extremely creative, I was expecting that the prison planet would be like some sort of concentration camp, but not at all. It actually shows that when individuals are put in a new environment, some will form a civilization, some will be productive, and others will choose evil. The character of boater was very interesting to, a former Mafia Don who becomes a great hunter and teaches our main character how to survive. The android dog was great to, so where the descriptions of the technology, the space station, etc. This book was full of surprises, at one point I thought they were going to steal the ship, or build a ship, but nope, that's not what happened.
My only gripe is they didn't tell us if the entire planet has swamp-like conditions or just the equator. Are there milder parts? I think the author should write a sequel.

Prison Planet (Audible Audio Edition) William C Dietz Bill Quinn Audible Studios Books Reviews
Not his best but still entertaining. Editing was messed up. Story rushed at points. Some originality but could easily be a three star
This book had it all and then surprised me (in a good way) at the end.....it's a keeper!!
Even though I always enjoy reading Dietz, this time I was completely entertained with monster hunting and artifact finding and non stop action.
Right on the money for a good fast paced read.
I've read this before, and decided it was time to do it again. As with almost any book, it's a quick read because the story keeps you turning the pages. Dietz writes science fiction something like a western it's very clear where the good and bad guys reside. I like that. I consider William C. Dietz to be a great story teller, and I have never read one which I disliked.
WOw, such a great sci fi and love story ) . I loved this book so much. Have read it many times.
Great book! Different type of science fiction story involving a planet that has been turned into a "prison" without bars. The wildlife is enough to keep the prisoners on their toes.
This book is very fast paced and seemingly skips over many parts that should have had more depth to them. The story does stay on track however and has a satisfying ending.
