The President faces a full-scale zombie apocalypse during the campaign for reelection. An army of dead rise from Arlington National Cemetery and wreak havoc on Washington, DC, while the whole world is engulfed in undead chaos. The President and the opposing candidate escape to Camp David and wait for a solution to the horrific situation. The undead have no alliance to either party. The walking dead show their political independence by targeting all in their insatiable hunger.

Dead Coup d'État eBook Dane Hatchell

I loved this short book. I read one review that stated it was a slam on the president but I didn't really feel it was. Decisions were made and, right or wrong, it didn't seem like it would have mattered because like it was pointed out: nobody seemed to make it out alive. I voted for Obama (won't do it the second time though) and was registered independent for most of my life until I realized I wanted more of a say than just a 'final vote'. The only reason I even mention any of this is because I'm wanting it known that I only like the zombie book for a great zombie book, not any biased political commentary that could be lying beneath the surface. Republican or Democrat doesn't matter to me.....they both suck. I am just rating the zombie read and it was worth a buck for sure....but I do wish it had been longer. I also didn't read the four chapters that were included at the end (hate not getting to finish something when I start it).

Interesting Characters,Multitude Of The Undead, and What Will The Future Hold When The Dead,"No Longer Rest In Peace." "A Horrific Mustread."
This little 40 page short story started off well enough but quickly devolved into a political statement bashing the current administration. Might as well have been an episode of "Fox and Friends" or a Rush Limbaugh broadcast given the politics involved. The teaser "who lives and who dies" is misleading since everybody dies thanks to the inept leadership of President Obama. I really could not understand the point of this story and I found it mean spirited. I am a huge fan of zombie fiction and this author has obvious skill but the content just was not there, other than attacking the president.
Great short story.
Execution of the concept is dead on. Kept thinking how lucky it was that my mother was incinerated before going into Arlington Cemetery. It's been a few weeks since reading it and I still chuckle over a scene. So it has stickiness as well.
Eh, it was an o.k. story. Dead soldiers and Senators munching down on who I presume to be President Obama. I'd have liked the story better if they were eating Boehner or Mitch McConnell! Yep, I'd recommend this story and author.
Zombies & politicians....what a truism!! LOL. This little gem by Dane Hatchell pulls zombies into politics with a finesse that is remarkable. The story flows very well & Dane throws a bit of reality in the mix. Just enough zombie goodies & gore without being overdone. What would Big Brother do if the zombie apocalypse REALLY happened? Read this amazing story to find out one man's take on that very thing. Who lives? Who dies? You'll find out....Another win for Dane in my book!
There's no question about the fact that this book is political, but at the same time I have to disagree with the reviewer who basicly said this is an Obama Smear Story. The thing about horror and sci-fi is that the authors are speculative writers because they are writing about things that have not happened so there is no basis in which to base actions of characters be the real or fictional and that's all that was being done here. The president is not named, but it's pretty clear who he was, especailly since he was running against General David Petraeus. Perhaps fictional characters should have been used, but that's not for us to decide. Personally, I think Mr. Hatchell did a great job with this story and can whole heartedly recommend it to any of you.
